45RPM Advanced Screening A Huge Success!

45RPM Cast & Crew

Last night my first feature film 45 RPM enjoyed an advanced screening in the sleepy town of Batesville, Arkansas – home to our executive producers Ozark Foothills FilmFest I was overwhelmed and delighted with a theater packed full of people seeing the film for the first time.

The whole town was so alive! Everything went off without a hitch. The film’s artwork & production stills were on display, people bought tons of music cds, art, & posters, the film was presented well beginning to end, the Q&A was fun, and the reception was a blast with great food, drinks, and live music also from the movie.

I really could not have asked for a better event. We were favorably complimented on every aspect of our production from camerawork & lighting to acting to art to production design to animation to music and more. I honestly can not thank everyone involved enough. ALL my cast & crew, my family, my friends, all the artists and musicians and their families, and all the supporters of indie film that made it out for the event, many traveling far distances to be there. There are so many of you I can’t even begin to list everyone.

This film would not have been possible without the dedication of the Arkansas film community & I love being part of it. The premiere was truly an exciting success and the start of great things to come!

The 10th Annual Ozark Foothills Film Fest

I attended the Ozarks Foothills Film Fest this past weekend and had to rave about it.

Not only did I get to see some great films (local, short, feature, documentary, animation, you name it!) I also participated in a screenwriting workshop taught by indie writer/director Gordy Hoffman.  Gordy is a smart talented guy (go watch his movie Love Liza and you’ll see what I mean) and I left the workshop ready to attack my script & ready to hammer out the kinks in my 3rd draft.

I talked to A LOT of people about 45 RPM. Everyone is eager to see more and a few more filmmaking hands have offered their skills to the production.  Very encouraging stuff!

Highlight of the festival had to be watching Fritz Lang’s restored classic Metropolis with the world-renowned Alloy Orchestra performing live.  Not only is the film a favorite of mine but the energy and creativity of the live soundtrack was nothing short of transcendent.

Congratulations to Bob & Judy Pest, founders and directors of the Ozark Foothills Film Fest, for hosting the only festival of its kind in Arkansas for 10 years running!
